Recently I was at a local "car show" called Cars & Coffee. I was standing by the side of the road shooting some images as the beautiful cars and bikes sped by. First is an Aprillia motorcycle, next is a Ferrari.Posted by Ryan Miller
Notice how the background is racing by and the especially the wheels are "moving". Capturing objects in motion can be somewhat easy if the shutter speed is high. However the wheels and the background usually ends up static. This tends to make your objects appear as if there is no movement.
The trick is to keep the shutter speed slow enough to allow the wheels and background to create motion. The difficult part and which requires lots of practice is following the object to minimize blur. The bike and the Ferrari we not moving all that fast, so I was able to obtain pretty sharp images.
